How the Flames Found Their Faces

Four readings from the sanctum's book, in the order they were written.

  1. The First Flame

Long before the ten realms had names, a single spirit flame drifted through the void. It flickered, it wandered, and one night it learned the shape of a dog. That was Cosmic — the first Inu, and the only one who remembers the dark.

  2. The Reading

The flame split ten ways, and each shard fell into a different sky. Where a shard landed, a realm grew around it: a frontier, a court, a shrine, a storm. Each Inu is an Arcana — a card the world dealt itself.

  3. Ten Realms, One Sanctum

The realms never touch, but their Inu do. On nights when the sparkles align, the sanctum opens: a floating shrine where every card returns to its deck and every flame remembers the others.

  4. The Pack

You do not find an Arcana. You draw one. Whoever holds the card holds a seat in the sanctum — and the pack always makes room.
